Kubernetes – How to start?

Hello Geeks,

Hope you all are doing great. This post has intent to help to start your journey in world of Kubernetes (K8s) and it’s runtime like Docker, CRIO and rkt etc.

As I am still exploring it and doing K8s Hands On in my  home lab and sharing my way here, How I begin? Which I divided into below parts:-

  1. Kubernetes  & docker basics concept .
  2. How to setup Home Lab?
  3. Cloud based Hands-On?
  4. E-learning & books option?
  5. Kubernetes Certification.

How to setup Home Lab?

I followed Kubernetes v1.15 with Docker CE 18.06.03 (yum install docker-18-06-03* -y) which 1master+2WorkerNode (minions) cluster.

Prerequisite : To have VMware Workstation, RHEL KVM or Oracle Virtual Box.

  1. 2 vCPU.
  2. 4 GB of RAM.
  3. 10 GB free space.

There is another way also to do your Home lab called minikube and here is instruction to setup minikube.

Cloud based Hands-On? Trust me Kubernetes onany cloud just a few clicked task.

Hands-On Labs (HOL) are :

E-learning & books option? Interesting and very confusing!!! believe me and your self, Don’t search many of e learning  you will get hell of confusion. trust me below are very helpful and You have to do hard work. No Substitute!!!

Kubernetes Certification : Much awaited and Get set GOAL, CNCF introduced 2 certification CKAD (Certified kubernetes Application developer) and CKA (Certified Kubernetes Administrator). See the below reference which I found.
